Dyslexia is an advantage.
My child is a stealth dyslexic. She is an honors student We found out she was dyslexic when she was being tested for the gifted group. She was considered gifted and is doing well.
She reads well, but has a lot of difficulty with spelling. It is usually the small words she misspells. She also will scramble words (all the letters are there, but the letters are scrambled). Another problem is online programs when the font is small or close together.
Next year (7th grade) she is expected to take Latin. It is an online course with an experienced Proctor available to help. I will have the opportunity to see the program in the next month. My question is if anyone has experience with this kind of course and a dyslexic child? Will Latin be helpful or just frustrating. Any comments will be appreciated.
